作ること、教えること
植物から作られた紙は独特の温かみをもち、作られる動物たちの皮膚として生き生きと呼吸します。
梅雨の時期にはぐったりしおれ、太陽の光で日焼けをし、人と同じように歳をとります。
そして平面から立体へ…。「切る」「折る」「貼る」のシンプルな加工で立ち上がってくる造形の楽しさと、「生きている」紙の表情を感じて頂けましたら幸いです。
幼稚園内での絵画造形教室、高校美術、兵庫県シニアカレッジでの造形指導、大学での芸術学の指導など、幅広い年齢の方向けの指導に携わり、また２人のこどもの子育てをする中で、「余暇活動」と捉えられがちな「アート」の本当の目的を考え続けてきました。
書くことや話すことと並んで、もしくはより文化的な背景に左右されにくい自己表現の手段のひとつとして手で描くこと、創ることを学んでほしい。
そのような気持ちで、ワークショップや教材づくりに取り組んでいます。
教育も秋山美歩の活動の大きな柱のひとつです。
Creating and Teaching
Paper, made from plants, carries a unique warmth and becomes the living skin of the animals I create, breathing with vitality.
During the rainy season it wilts, under the sun it tans, and like people, it ages with time.
From plane to volume—the simple processes of “cutting,” “folding,” and “pasting” bring forms to life. I hope viewers can feel both the joy of shaping and the living expressions of paper itself.
Through teaching art in kindergartens, high schools, senior colleges, and now at university, as well as through raising two children of my own, I have continuously reflected on the true purpose of art—so often regarded merely as “leisure activity.”
Alongside writing and speaking, I believe drawing and creating with one’s hands is one of the most essential forms of self-expression, less bound by cultural context.
It is with this conviction that I design workshops and educational materials. Education remains one of the central pillars of my artistic practice.

秋山美歩 Miho Akiyama
紙造形作家。1982年 山梨県生まれ。愛媛と大阪で育つ。
大阪教育大学大学院芸術文化専攻修了（平成18年度学長表彰）。
兵庫医科大学 芸術学非常勤講師。富士川切り絵の森美術館常設展示。
大学在学中より、紙の動物たちの作品を制作。
阪急百貨店うめだ本店等の百貨店ウィンドーや、商業施設のディスプレイなどで、紙の立体造形を発表。
また、幅広い年代への美術指導経験を活かし紙の楽しさを伝えるワークショップも積極的に行っている。
2019年 公立美術館 砺波市美術館にて砺波チューリップフェア特別展「秋山美歩 紙の動物園」を開催して頂き、同展覧会単体で来場者数5万9000人に。
2020年〜2021年 フランスの高級子ども服ブランド ボンポワンのノベルティペーパークラフト「Bonpoint Voyage」パリ編・東京編・ロンドン編・ニューヨーク編を制作。Bonpoint Voyage ロンドン編はボンポワン台湾でも展開。
2022年 新宿伊勢丹ザ・ステージ及び大丸心斎橋店で開催されたイタリアの高級ブランド トッズのポップアップイベント「TOD’S TERRAZZA」の動物たちを手がけた。
2023年 色画用紙アソートセット「CANSON ミ・タント 秋山美歩セレクト11色セット」、
2025年「CANSON ミ・タント 秋山美歩 ペーパークラフトキット」（マルマン株式会社）発売。
おうち習い事アプリ miroomにてオンデマンド講座開講中。コラボグッズに兵庫県立歴史博物館ペーパークラフト等。
著書に「かんたん！楽しい！動物と昆虫の立体切り紙工作」、「○△□で作る紙工作 いきもの・くさばな・のりもの・たてもの」（ともに講談社）がある。
雑誌「& Premium」（マガジンハウス）の公式 Webサイトで愛猫ヨーダの日記「寝ぼすけヨーダの、ぽかぽかな毎日。」連載。

Miho Akiyama
“Paper Sculptor”
Miho Akiyama (b. 1982, Yamanashi, Japan) is a paper sculptor creating three-dimensional works inspired by animals and plants. She earned her Master’s degree in Art and Culture from Osaka Kyoiku University Graduate School, receiving the President’s Award. She currently lectures in Art at Hyogo Medical University, and her works are part of the permanent collection of the Fujikawa Kirie-no-Mori Art Museum.
In 2019, she held her solo exhibition “Paper Zoo” at the Tonami Art Museum, attracting 59,000 visitors. From 2020 to 2021, she collaborated with the French luxury children’s fashion brand Bonpoint on the novelty project “Bonpoint Voyage.” In 2022, she created animal sculptures for the Italian luxury brand TOD’S at the pop-up event “TOD’S TERRAZZA.”
In 2023, she released “CANSON Mi-Teintes Miho Akiyama Select 11 Colors” and in 2025, “CANSON Mi-Teintes Miho Akiyama Paper Craft Kits” (Maruman Co., Ltd.) were launched. Her publications include Paper Crafts with Circle, Triangle, Square (Kodansha, 2024) and Easy & Fun! 3D Paper Crafts of Animals and Insects (Kodansha, 2023).
