🐢 Hime（2012） 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) リ 🐢 Hime（2012） 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) リクガメ作品のモデルになったのは、我が家のヒョウモンリクガメ「ヒメ」。 貼り絵の手法で甲羅の模様を描きました。 小松菜を買うたびにヒメを思い出します。 一緒に写っているのは、盲導犬のキャリアチェンジ犬の「エリー」です。 エリーの記事は亡くなったいまでも多くの方がブログを訪れて読んでくださっています。懐かしい写真。 🐢 Hime (2012) 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) This tortoise work was modeled after my pet leopard tortoise, Hime. The shell’s pattern was created using a collage technique. In the background, you can see Ellie, our guide dog career-change dog. Even today, many people still visit my blog to read about her. 🌿 食虫植物のペンダント🪲 数年前 🌿 食虫植物のペンダント🪲 数年前「咲くやこの花館」で開催された「虫を食べる植物展」のワークショップから。 オリジナルのウツボカズラとハエトリソウをペーパークラフトで作り、ペンダントに仕立てました。 食虫植物を首から下げるなんて、ちょっと不思議で面白い体験でした。 子どもたちが着けると可愛さ倍増😊✨ 「本当に虫が入ったりして♪」楽しい企画でした。 English 🌿 Carnivorous Plant Pendant Workshop 🌿 A few years ago, I held a workshop at Sakuya Konohana Kan during the “Carnivorous Plant Exhibition.” Participants crafted original paper models of pitcher plants and Venus flytraps, then turned them into pendants. TOD’S TERRAZZAのヨーキー🐾🐾🐾 ブランドの世界観に合わせて制作したヨークシャーテリア。 毛並みを一枚一枚の紙で表現し、リアルさと温かみを両立させました。 展示の際には、たくさんの方が足を止めて写真を撮ってくださいました📸 また、この２匹…インスタライブで俳優の町田啓太さんにご紹介いただいたことで、ファンの皆さんには「マチダ」と「ケイタ」と呼んでもらっていました✨ 紙という素材の柔らかさが、動物の存在感を優しく伝えてくれるのが嬉しいです。 🐾 Yorkshire Terriers at TOD’S TERRAZZA 🐾 These Yorkshire terriers were created to match the brand’s world view. Each strand of fur was carefully made from paper, combining realism with warmth. 🦏Sleepy Time (2004) 💤 サイズ：60.0 × 4 🦏Sleepy Time (2004) 💤 サイズ：60.0 × 40.0 × 40.0 (cm) HPを更新しながら気づいたのですが… 作品の大きさがわかる写真をこれまであまり紹介していませんでした💦 このサイを見た動物園の飼育員さんに、 「眠たそうだけど、ぱっと立ち上がって攻撃してくるかもしれない目つきだね」 と言われたことがあります。そう思うと、なんだかスリリング！ 貼り直したりしながら大切にしてきた作品です。 🦏💤 Sleepy Time (2004) 💤🦏 Dimensions: 60.0 × 40.0 × 40.0 (cm) While updating my website, I realized I haven’t shared many photos that show the actual size of my works. A zookeeper once told me about this rhino: “It looks sleepy, but it has the eyes of one that could suddenly jump up and attack.” That makes it feel rather thrilling! 🐢 Hime（2012） 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) リ 🐢 Hime（2012） 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) リクガメ作品のモデルになったのは、我が家のヒョウモンリクガメ「ヒメ」。 貼り絵の手法で甲羅の模様を描きました。 小松菜を買うたびにヒメを思い出します。 一緒に写っているのは、盲導犬のキャリアチェンジ犬の「エリー」です。 エリーの記事は亡くなったいまでも多くの方がブログを訪れて読んでくださっています。懐かしい写真。 🐢 Hime (2012) 20.0 × 30.0 × 15.0 (cm) This tortoise work was modeled after my pet leopard tortoise, Hime. The shell’s pattern was created using a collage technique. In the background, you can see Ellie, our guide dog career-change dog. Even today, many people still visit my blog to read about her. 🌿 食虫植物のペンダント🪲 数年前 🌿 食虫植物のペンダント🪲 数年前「咲くやこの花館」で開催された「虫を食べる植物展」のワークショップから。 オリジナルのウツボカズラとハエトリソウをペーパークラフトで作り、ペンダントに仕立てました。 食虫植物を首から下げるなんて、ちょっと不思議で面白い体験でした。 子どもたちが着けると可愛さ倍増😊✨ 「本当に虫が入ったりして♪」楽しい企画でした。 English 🌿 Carnivorous Plant Pendant Workshop 🌿 A few years ago, I held a workshop at Sakuya Konohana Kan during the “Carnivorous Plant Exhibition.” Participants crafted original paper models of pitcher plants and Venus flytraps, then turned them into pendants. TOD’S TERRAZZAのヨーキー🐾🐾🐾 ブランドの世界観に合わせて制作したヨークシャーテリア。 毛並みを一枚一枚の紙で表現し、リアルさと温かみを両立させました。 展示の際には、たくさんの方が足を止めて写真を撮ってくださいました📸 また、この２匹…インスタライブで俳優の町田啓太さんにご紹介いただいたことで、ファンの皆さんには「マチダ」と「ケイタ」と呼んでもらっていました✨ 紙という素材の柔らかさが、動物の存在感を優しく伝えてくれるのが嬉しいです。 🐾 Yorkshire Terriers at TOD’S TERRAZZA 🐾 These Yorkshire terriers were created to match the brand’s world view. Each strand of fur was carefully made from paper, combining realism with warmth. 🦏Sleepy Time (2004) 💤 サイズ：60.0 × 4 🦏Sleepy Time (2004) 💤 サイズ：60.0 × 40.0 × 40.0 (cm) HPを更新しながら気づいたのですが… 作品の大きさがわかる写真をこれまであまり紹介していませんでした💦 このサイを見た動物園の飼育員さんに、 「眠たそうだけど、ぱっと立ち上がって攻撃してくるかもしれない目つきだね」 と言われたことがあります。そう思うと、なんだかスリリング！ 貼り直したりしながら大切にしてきた作品です。 🦏💤 Sleepy Time (2004) 💤🦏 Dimensions: 60.0 × 40.0 × 40.0 (cm) While updating my website, I realized I haven’t shared many photos that show the actual size of my works. A zookeeper once told me about this rhino: “It looks sleepy, but it has the eyes of one that could suddenly jump up and attack.” That makes it feel rather thrilling! I imagined the fragrance of flowers on its back, and the unique way this little rhino might walk and call. Her free-flowing, imaginative and richly colored work has a charm that immediately soothes and relaxes. As an educator, Akiyama also engages in activities that convey paper’s appeal to people of all ages in an easy and accessible way. We visited Akiyama in her studio in Hyogo Prefecture to hear her thoughts on the essence of paper as a material in both art and education. ■ Appendix In collaboration with Miho Akiyama, the paper artist featured in our lead article, we present you with a paper craft of a stag beetle and a butterfly, both designed by the artist.
